She is an authority in peace leadership development, leadership, group and business development with 22 years of experience, having worked with a broad variety of leaders spanning the private sector, official authorities and international relations in Sweden, USA (e.g. the UN), Iraq, Nepal and The Netherlands.
She has developed, coached and trained many hundreds of leaders to become more conscious, responsible, comfortable, self-loving, creative and effective in their creations and leadership. Sundbom was shortlisted and interviewed for the role of international peace mediator at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; been invited to talk at the Erasmus University, Rotterdam School of Management, as one of Europe’s ten most innovative leadership developers in 2019; and had her courses and one-on-one sessions systematically studied for two years by Dr. M. Lindgren, leading to the research report, "The Conscious Responsible Leadership – A Report on a Way to Lead for Long-Term Development”, and its presentation at several UN Missions in New York in 2019.
Annika is also an author, a publisher, artist and a lecturer, having published the books “Do or Die: Confessions of a Leader or the Pursuit of Self-love” (2017) and “Betraktelser, Samtal och Drömmar” (“Dreams, Considerations and Conversations”) (2021). Throughout her publications and even in Lindgren’s report, the recurring message is: It is possible to create peace and community in any context—it depends on the leader’s responsibility, for and awareness of how we create our relationships, conflicts, and peace.
Her background is as an intensive care nurse, a lecturer in military medicine, and an instructor in disaster medicine.
